On 28th of August swisscleantech organized the first event of the event series «A Swiss Perspective on The New Climate Economy». Key speaker was Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever, followed by Ipek Gencsu, Program Manager of The New Climate Economy Report 2015 and a Panel discussion with Matthias Bölke, CEO Schneider Electric Switzerland, Simona Scarpaleggia, CEO IKEA Switzerland and Prof. Dr. Liliana Andonova, Professor for Political Science.
This first event, held at the Graduate Institute Geneva, focused on the topics of consumer goods and UN Community and was attended by more than 500 guests from business, science and diplomacy area.
Two key messages out of the discussions are: «If we can make ice-cream climate-neutral, we can do it for every product.» and «Switzerland has an incredible position as a leader of international diplomacy and a center of business around the planet to be an incredible supporter of sustainable development in the future.»
