eco.festival will take place from 27 to 29 May at the Barfüsser and Theaterplatz in the heart of Basel. According to the Forum for Sustainable Development eco.ch, the festival will be the largest event on sustainability in Switzerland.
But this won’t be a dry, information-only event. The motto is “Experiencing sustainability in a fun way”, and participants can expect to be greeted with culinary pleasures and musical performances. There will also be plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning. In a seminar, participants will be taught how to produce their own seed balls, allowing people and bees alike to benefit from blossoming surroundings. Special exhibitions will focus on sustainable food, sustainable agriculture and responsible consumption. Visitors will be able to enjoy sustainable treats and organic cocktails at the many different market stands.
Since 2005, the association eco.ch and its members from organisations, authorities, federal offices and associations has been committed to the sustainable development of Switzerland. The association’s business activities are carried out by ecos.
