The major infrastructure project will see Implenia complete a series of work around 100 kilometres from Oslo. A press release writes that the Swiss company will build a 4.8-kilometre four-lane road. The contract, which is scheduled for completion in September 2019, also includes a 1.5-kilometre tunnel, six tunnel portals, bridges, supporting walls and noise protection structures. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration commissioned the project, which will create new sections of a key road link between Oslo and the west coast: the E134.
The second contract is also a public-sector commission. Implenia will undertake concrete works for the raw structure of a new government building in Oslo. The Swiss construction company is already conducting groundwork, which will be completed this spring. Subsequent works will then take place between August and April 2018. In the press release, Implenia writes that the works are demanding because of the project’s location in the city centre and the construction pit’s depth. In preparation, Implenia made plans using the advanced “Building Information Modelling” system.
