Implenia refurbishes UBS headquarters


Dietlikon ZH – Construction company Implenia is to modernise bank UBS’s Zurich headquarters. Among the aims of the refurbishment works is the enhancement of the building’s impact on its surroundings. It will also be brought into line with energy-efficiency standards.

Implenia is acting as the total contractor for the renovations to the UBS headquarters, writes a press release. A key aim is to adapt the public areas at Bahnhofstrasse 45, Zurich to meet future requirements and technical aspects. To this end, energy systems and building services will be modernised.   

The first phase of the project will see the refurbishment not only of the building at Bahnhofstrasse 45, but also the buildings at Bahnhofstrasse 47 and at Pelikanstrasse 5 and 9a. The restorations are to be carried out in accordance with the LEED Platinum Standard. According to the press release, UBS has “ambitious sustainability aims” – as the standard attests. Construction work will start in January 2016 and is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2018.
