SGS promotes sustainability


Geneva – Swiss inspection and verification company SGS demonstrates its commitment to sustainability in a newly released video summarising its past accomplishments and future targets.

To complement its recently published 2014 Sustainability Report, SGS has produced a video showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainability. In 2014 SGS won several awards for how it implemented its binding sustainability targets, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices award as industry leader or making it to the A list of 187 listed companies on the Climate Performance Leadership Index 2014.

Consulting firm Lundquist placed SGS in its top three Swiss companies for corporate social responsibility, including the award for overall most improved sustainability reporter. Its 2014 Sustainability Report provides transparent information on the company’s 80,000 employees at 1,650 locations worldwide and clarifies how SGS delivers value to society through its services linked to sustainability. The report meets high demands for quality and veracity.

SGS wants to be carbon-free by 2020 and has set itself annual targets regarding its employees, strengthening community investments and the environment, such as management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. SGS will also try to lower energy intensities on both a per employee basis and by revenue.
