The app gives users constant access to their home solar installation and it is available for both iOS and Android. According to an Ampard press release, it can also be installed on a tablet. As Ampard explains, a solar installation makes solid economic sense for residents of a single-family house if a large portion of the electricity produced is consumed by the residents. This objective can be better achieved with both the desktop version and corresponding app of the AMPARD User Interface.

The user interface graphically displays all electricity flowing into the house. Additional explanations and information on environmental contribution, such as CO2 savings, are also displayed.

Ampard AG connects solar storage systems to a virtual power plant, making it possible to offer so-called controlled energy whereby private storage can be used to stabilise the grid. Network operators financially reward homeowners for this.
