Since mid-May Leclanché’s facility in Willstätt, Germany has been running at a steady production output, allowing the Swiss energy storage manufacturer to meet the delivery requirements for its various projects.

The facility’s safety setup prevented the fire incident from spreading, said CTO of Leclanché, Pierre Blanc, in a statement. As the vast majority of the machinery was unaffected, the company was able to restart the production plant within a few weeks. The focus is now on the full recovery of the plant’s production capacity.

CEO Anil Srivastava added that were no injuries to any personnel and no unwanted environmental impact thanks to the in-house time-tested processes and know-how “built on our 100 years of industrial heritage”.
