Organised by consulting company ecos, the GIB Summit of the Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB) has been an annual event so far. Now, the GIB plans to broaden its outreach and become more accessible to relevant markets, according to a press release. The organisation’s plans will see the GIB Summit replaced this year by the GIB Summit Series. This series of events will include three summit meetings: on 8th April in Beijing; from 17th to 20th May in San José, Costa Rica; and from 6th to 8th July in Bonn.

As for objectives, nothing has changed. This year, the GIB will continue its mission to bring together investors, project developers, public sector institutions and non-governmental organisations. The aim of this platform is to develop sustainable infrastructure projects.

To help ensure the success of the series of events, GIB has entered partnerships for each of the summit meetings. In Beijing, it will work with the Chinese rating agency Dagong. Meanwhile, it will partner with the World Resources Forum (WRF) in San José and the Local Governments for Sustainibility (ICLEI) association in Bonn. The summit series will be financially supported by the Federal Office for the Environment
