Private equity firm KKR, which is based in New York and listed on the stock exchange, has been developing its Green Portfolio for years. The portfolio is for investments in the field of sustainable business operations. Since 2009, Elizabeth Seeger has overseen the department. In an interview with RepRisk AG of Zurich, which was published in a press release, Seegers confirmed that KKR looked to RepRisk when making decisions on ESG data. ESG or Environment Social Governance is increasingly important for the private equity firm, Seeger said, explaining that the question has shifted from “if” the company should consider these factors to “how” to do something related to ESG issues.

When asked about the use and benefits of the RepRisk platform, Seeger answered: “When it comes to responsible investment, KKR understands that there is valuable information outside of our own knowledge and experiences, and we have a track record of finding and relying on thought partners to inform our decisions. We use the RepRisk service in this way.” She added that this helps KKR to understand its stakeholders’ points of view, as well as how the company is managing the issues.
