French company Enedis manages 95 per cent of the country’s electrical distribution network, announced Landis+Gyr in a statement. Enedis wants to renew all of its metre parks for small- to mid-sized industrial and commercial customers. In 2012, the company awarded Landis+Gyr a contract to supply smart electricity metres. The extension to the project starts up this June and is scheduled to be completed within two years.

“We are delighted to be the preferred supplier for this project,” commented Christian Huguet, country manager for Landis+Gyr in France, where the smart electricity metres will be produced. He added: “By the end of the roll out, Enedis will have completely updated its existing meter park. The park will then be suitable for all major commercial and industrial applications.”

Landis+Gyr operates in 31 countries and employs 5,700 people. Alongside smart electricity metres, the company provides additional solutions to facilitate advanced management of energy provision.
