With the acquisition, Leclanché will gain a new system development centre and a new team of 10 engineers, according to a press release. The Swiss battery company will also acquire the existing sales backlog and pipeline. Trineuron, a business unit of the Belgian company Emrol, is primarily active in the design and manufacture of lithium ion storage systems for transport applications. Through the integration of Trineuron’s competences, Leclanché wants to increase the potential of its development capability, and in particular in the field of electric mobility.
The acquisition is in the form of a share deal, whereby Leclanché will acquire a subsidiary of Emrol against payment of 410,000 Leclanché shares. “Trineuron has a very complementary technology to Leclanche’s current business and brings a strong sales footprint in our target markets,” explained Anil Srivastava, CEO of Leclanché.
