Anil Srivastava was invited to join the panel discussion “Transport decarbonisation as an engine for growth”, writes a Leclanché press release. The participants shared Srivastava’s conviction that a standardised charging infrastructure for buses, ferries and trams was necessary to accelerate the electrification of these fleets. Such a move could also create new jobs, adds the press release.

According to Leclanché, which delivered a battery system to help build the world’s largest electric ferry, energy storage systems are important for reducing emissions in the transport sector. The company claims to be well positioned “to address the opportunity for the electrification of the transport sector”.

Committed to research in this field, the Swiss manufacturer has offered a battery solution for the ECO-TRUCK exhibition. The exhibition, which opened on Saturday in La Villlette in Paris, was initiated in part by the Swiss institute Kindercity. It is designed to showcase renewable energies. The exhibition is scheduled to come to Switzerland next year.
