While in France, PlanetSolar is preparing for an expedition to fight plastic waste in oceans. Guided tours allow visitors to view the solar-powered ship on weekends in August, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at its characteristics. PlanetSolar will remain in Lorient until the end of September, according to a press release.
The world’s largest solar catamaran has already done publicity for solar energy. Last year, it travelled 9,000 kilometres and promoted its message in eight cities. It has also carried out a scientific expedition in collaboration with the University of Geneva.
