Semiconductors supplier Semtech, which has a subsidiary in St.Gallen, will equip the participants with its “LoRa Wide-Area Network Platform”. The platform enables programmers, entrepreneurs and developers to conceptualise a wide range of products using low levels of energy. Swisscom’s Internet of Things (IoT) Hackathon will focus on areas including smart city applications.
Hardy Schmidbauer, Director of Wireless Products at Semtech, welcomes the opportunity to “introduce some of Europe’s brightest developers and entrepreneurs” to LoRa technology, according to a press release. The event, which is hosted by Swisscom in partnership with Impact Hub Zurich, takes place from Friday to Sunday.
