SGS to exhibit at World Forestry Congress


Geneva – Swiss inspection and verification company SGS will be an exhibitor at the XIV World Forestry Congress, which will be held in Durban, South Africa from 7-11 September 2015. SGS will showcase its forestry services for governments, institutions and private companies.

Under the sub-theme ‘Monitoring forests for better decision-making’, SGS will present SGS LegalTrace, a traceability and legality verification system to ensure that timber, harvesting, processing and sales are compliant with current national regulation and international initiatives, explains an SGS news release.

The World Forestry Congress is a gathering for the global forestry community with topics ranging from climate change and food security to education and youth employment. This year’s congress – the first to be held in Africa – is called Forests and People: Investing in a Sustainable Future. The congress is held every six years under the auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
