The forum focused on country-led initiatives and climate policy instruments such as Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) and Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs). As South Pole Group writes in a news release, the strong focus on these mechanisms has kept Latin America at the forefront of climate policy mitigation instruments.
South Pole Group organised a side event at the forum that looked at how private sector commitments and use of REDD+ can support low-emission development. The Zurich-based organisation also guaranteed the carbon neutrality of the entire event.
