South Pole Group is partnering with Climate KIC and Agolin, a Swiss producer of feed additives for livestock, to carry out RuMeClean. Livestock are currently responsible for 9 to 18 per cent of methane emissions and the three project partners see a vast and untapped potential to reduce these emissions, writes South Pole group in a news release.

The project involves experts in the livestock and climate mitigation sectors and is now registering an emission reduction project adopting a feed additive with the Swiss government. If successful, the project could be implemented around the world. From a business perspective, climate smart agriculture could make corporate climate efforts more visible, explains the news release.
