South Pole Group won in the following categories in the 2016 Market Awards from Environmental Finance: Best Trading Company, Best Project Developer – Renewable Energy, and Best Wholesaler. South Pole Group described the awards a “prestigious, peer-voted industry ranking”.
The Zurich-based company was honoured by this recognition. “For us this is an invaluable endorsement from our clients and partners for our inclusive, results-based approach,” said CEO Renat Heuberger.
South Pole Group expanded its renewable energy offerings last year to include high-quality renewable energy certificates. The company aims to provide products that both support renewable energy projects but also help their clients increase the speed in which they integrate renewables into their energy mix, explained Natalia Gornia, sales director of carbon and renewables.
According to a South Pole Group statement, the company also placed second in another five categories. It was especially proud of its second-place ranking in the category Forestry, which is achieved together with its Australian subsidiary Climate Friendly.
