Called Flexolution, the building is the world’s first ever re-usable test lab. According to an SGS news release, the modular building is located in the German-Dutch business park Avantis in Heerlen and will serve as a facility for research, testing and demonstrations.

The project was an initiative of the S-Built Foundation, a public-private partnership that includes Parkstad Limburg, the province of Limburg, University Zuyd, the municipality of Heerlen and SGS. The German specialist in reusable construction Neptunus collaborated on the project with the S-Built Foundation and SGS. According to the news release, SGS and Neptunus will continue to work together over the next two years to develop reusable and rentable components and systems to create sustainable structures.
