The solar farm is located close to the town of Reading in England, writes SUSI Partners in a news release. The installation, which was completed in the spring of this year, has an output capacity of around 15 megawatt peak – enough to supply 4,600 households each year.
Under the terms of a power purchase agreement (PPA), the solar farm also sells the power generated at a fixed price over a period of 20 years to McDonald’s. “This investment shows that, with the right contractual structure, renewable energy can provide an attractive long-term generation source for large energy users. We are excited to be partnering with McDonald’s on this and look forward to leverage the PPA model increasingly throughout our portfolio,” says SUSI Partners CEO Tobias Reichmuth.
